The comparison was made by music executive Vic Del Rosario, who referred to Jayda as the next Popstar Royalty. In an interview on TicTALK with Aster Amoyo aired on April 17, the young singer admitted that the remark left a strong impression on her.
“I’m just really flattered and honored na gano’n po ‘yong tingin niya sa akin. Medyo nape-pressure din po ako. I mean, these are big shoes to fill,” Jayda said.
Despite the expectations tied to the statement, Jayda clarified that she remains focused on her personal growth as an artist. She highlighted that while comparisons can be motivating, her priority is to stay grounded and continue improving her craft.

“But at the of the day, alam ko naman po na nandito po ako just do my best dito sa industriya. And masarap po sa pakiramdam na ‘yong manager ko, si Boss Vic, malaki po ‘yong tiwala niya in me,” she added.
Jayda also looked back on a defining moment from her childhood when Vic first took notice of her talent during one of her father’s performances.
“He [Boss Vic] watched me perform at one of my dad’s mall show. He was on a mall tour for his album at the time under Viva Records,” she recalled.
She then revealed the gesture that stayed with her through the years.
“Ta’s inabutan po niya po ng note ‘yong dad ko n’on. As in papel po. Ta’s nakasulat, ‘Give her to me, I’ll make her a star.”
Now steadily building her own career, Jayda continues to honor that early belief while striving to define her own path in the entertainment industry.
