In an interview with Dina Bonnevie on the YouTube show House of D, she looked back on her Pinoy Big Brother experience, from joining a spontaneous audition with friends to eventually facing conversations about how her appearance has changed since then.

Fyang explained that she and her fellow housemates came from a batch of complete newcomers.

“Kami po yung last batch na normal na walang artista,” she said.

“Nag-audition kami ng 2 days. Nakapila lang kami ng 2 days. Walang toothbrush, walang ligo,” she shared.

The conversation then revealed that her decision to audition wasn’t planned. “

"Hindi ko siya ginusto," Fyang admitted.
“Parang nung time na ’yon, wala kaming mapuntahan ng mga friends ko.”

What started as a spontaneous trip turned into a life-changing moment after she was the only one chosen among her friends.

As the discussion progressed, Dina brought up their current looks, noting their on-screen appeal. This led to a playful but direct question about possible cosmetic enhancements.

“Bakit, niretoke na ’yan?” Dina asked.

Fyang immediately responded with humor and clarity.

“Uy, wala po. Wala, wala,” she said.
“Kahit dimple injection wala pa. Wala pong injection.”
Fyang was then asked by Dina, "So ano yung face mo dati?"

She then explained the noticeable difference in her appearance.

“Sobrang haggard,” Fyang said.

She referred to how she looked during auditions. The exhaustion from long lines, limited food, and lack of communication contributed to their worn-out appearance at the time.

Her candid response highlighted that the transformation people notice today was not due to cosmetic procedures, but rather the natural result of rest, proper care, and improved conditions after their PBB experience.

Sofia "Fyang" Smith is a 19-year-old Filipino-American social media personality and actress, born in Laguna and raised in Mandaluyong by her grandmother. She rose to fame as a prominent TikTok influencer before achieving national stardom as the Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 in 2024. Currently, she is an active Star Magic artist paired with JM Ibarra in the popular "JMFyang" loveteam.

In recent report, JM Ibarra clarified rumors about him and Fyang Smith being labeled as a live-in couple during his interview with Ogie Diaz. He strongly denied that they are sharing a home, explaining that their frequent work commitments often lead to being seen together. JM also stressed his respect for Fyang’s family and said they have chosen to stay quiet despite recurring issues.

Meanwhile, JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith also discussed on “Hot Takes” how they deal with online criticism following their rise from Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11. JM shared that bashing becomes more concerning when it starts affecting people outside showbiz, while Fyang revealed she stepped away from social media to protect her peace and privacy. The two added that hiking trips, including visits to Mount Pulag and Mount Pinatubo, help them disconnect from negativity.
