Sugar Mercado recently opened up about the humble beginnings she and the SexBomb Girls experienced before reaching success in the entertainment industry.

During her guest appearance on “Your Honor Live Sessions,” the actress shared that their talent fee in the early days was only P250. She added that this amount could even be reduced to P150 if a member arrived late. Despite the low pay, she emphasized that they continued working hard because they had families depending on them.

She explained that most of them were breadwinners at the time. Their main goal was to provide for their loved ones, including their parents and siblings. She said that back then, they were not focused on fame or recognition. Instead, their mindset was centered on earning enough to support their families.

Sugar also spoke about the emotional experience of seeing the strong support for the SexBomb Girls during their reunion concert. She admitted that she initially found it hard to believe that fans would still show up in large numbers after many years.

The celebrity mom recalled that despite being inactive as a group for about two decades, they were able to fill one of the biggest coliseums in the Philippines. She even shared that the venue was filled three times in a row, something she did not expect at first.

According to her, it was only when she stepped on stage and heard the loud cheers from the audience that the reality of their continued popularity truly sank in. The moment she said it, it gave her goosebumps and made her appreciate how much love their fans still have for them.

She also mentioned fellow members like Rochelle Pangilinan and Aira Bermudez, saying that they often remind each other to remain humble despite their achievements.
