Kapuso actor Rocco Nacino went viral after airing his frustration over a reportedly high electricity charge from Meralco, prompting online discussions about rising utility costs.

In a social media post on March 20, the actor expressed shock over a “differential bill” exceeding ₱31,000 on top of his regular monthly charges.
“Meralco may I be connected to your customer service line? I am being billed for a differential bill of 31k plus. Saan galing ‘yan at ano basis ninyo for a ‘differential’ bill aside from my monthly bill?” he wrote.
Nacino also shared that he became concerned after technicians were allegedly sent for a possible disconnection even before he fully understood the additional charge.

“Nakakapagtaka na doble-doble ang bills.”
He said while asking if others had experienced a similar situation.
Later, the actor disclosed that Meralco had reached out to him to clarify the billing. He eventually settled the amount after the explanation. However, another detail surprised him when he requested his billing history.
“Pagrequest ko ng billing history, 6 digits na ang annual na binabayad namin sa kuryente. Jusko…” he added.
Because of this, Nacino hinted that he is now considering upgrading to a solar energy system with the help of a solar company in hopes of reducing or eliminating electricity costs.
The post drew mixed reactions from netizens, with several sharing their own experiences regarding unexpected increases in their electricity bills. Some expressed empathy, while others urged consumers to seek clarification directly from Meralco offices.
