The development was announced during a joint press conference on Wednesday, March 4, involving the CICC, the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG), the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), and Digital Pinoys. Authorities revealed that the move came after a month-long investigation into online personalities suspected of endorsing unlicensed g*mbling websites.
CICC Executive Director Usec. Aboy Paraiso confirmed that the agency had formally submitted documents to the PNP-ACG to support the case build-up against the influencers.
“Narito po tayo upang isumite ang bunga ng isang buwang masusing imbestigasyon, mga dokumentasyon na magsisilbing bala upang mapalakas ang ating mga kaso laban sa mga digital influencers na walang pakundangang nagpo-promote pa rin ng mga hindi regulated na g*mbling sites,” says Paraiso.

Aside from Jam Magno and Cherry White, authorities also identified several other social media personalities who allegedly promoted specific online g*mbling platforms. Among them are Christian Merck Grey, Whamonette, Kuya Datz, Barbie Doll, Primo, Astre, Onepipti, Ssob Wampipti, Master Long Mejia Vlog, and Wampipti Casino.
Digital Pinoys national campaigner Ronald Gustilo said their group has also coordinated with Meta to request the removal of the social media pages linked to the alleged promotions.
“So, ito pong top 10 influencers na ‘to ay endorsed na rin po sa Meta for page takedown… and they are also endorsed already to PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group for case build-up,” says Gustilo.

He added that authorities had previously issued warnings before escalating the matter.
“We gave them a fair warning; we gave everyone a fair warning,” says Gustilo.
Meanwhile, PAGCOR clarified that g*mbling platforms without licenses are considered illegal.
“’Yong illegal sites kasi, ito ‘yong walang lisensya sa amin,” says PAGCOR Senior Vice President Raul Villanueva.
The CICC also urged netizens to remain cautious about the online personalities they follow and the g*mbling sites being promoted on social media.
The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) is a Philippine government agency operating under the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). Established through Republic Act 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act, the agency focuses on enforcing laws related to cybercrime in the country. Its work includes investigating online scams, hacking incidents, and consumer fraud. To assist the public, the CICC provides a 24/7 hotline, 1326, where individuals can report cyber-related concerns, along with official social media platforms dedicated to consumer assistance.
In another report, actor Gil Cuerva recently addressed a viral video circulating online through a statement posted on his Instagram account. Despite the situation, Cuerva reassured the public that he is doing well and choosing to move forward with his life.
Meanwhile, Arron Villaflor also responded to reports connecting him to a viral “celebrity video” controversy. The actor explained that the clips currently circulating online are actually scenes taken from his previous projects with VMX. Villaflor said he believes the renewed spread of the footage is part of what he described as a smear campaign against him. Despite the issue, he maintained a calm outlook, adding that the attention generated by the videos has, in some ways, benefited his career.
