In a YouTube vlog with her former partner Kris Lawrence, Katie’s father, Katrina shared that managing the costs of treatments is one of her biggest concerns.
“Mahal s'ya, 'di ba? Meron s'yang behavioral therapy no'n, meron s'yang speech [therapy], OT [occupational therapy]… ang mahal. Ang gastos, grabe. Nag-school na s'ya no'ng magte-three years old s'ya,” she said.
Katrina recently celebrated a milestone, revealing that Katie had completed her stem cell therapy, a procedure costing millions. Admitting that she doesn’t always have steady TV projects, Katrina found alternative ways to provide for her daughter, including selling balm products and creating vlogs.

“Eventually, na-realize ko binigyan ako ni Lord ng oras kay Katie tapos eto nag-open pa yung social media sa 'min ni Katie na sobrang thankful ako kasi parang sinabi ni Lord na kahit wala kang trabaho, bibigyan kita ng panggastos n'yo,” she said.
“So nagba-vlog kami ni Katie, nagba-bonding kami. Kumikita kami, nakakabayad kami ng responsibilidad ko.”
Despite her positivity, Katrina emphasizes the ongoing nature of her responsibilities.
“Kung bibigyan ako ni Lord ng trabaho, trabaho yung uunahin ko e. Yung totoong ako, trabaho kasi gusto ko matapos lahat ng binabayaran ko. Pero isipin mo, ilan taon na akong nagtatrabaho, ilan taon na si Katie… 'di ba 'di naman natatapos yung mga binabayaran ko, yung mga responsibilidad? Pero si Katie lumalaki.”
