On Tuesday, the Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas Inc. (KSMBPI) arrived at the Makati Prosecutor’s Office to submit a case against an actress known as Salome Salvi and a popular vlogger recognized as Brian Babilonia, more commonly referred to by his online handle.
The group alleges that the pair has consistently produced and distributed materials that violate the country’s laws regarding public decency and the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
The complaint centers on a series of videos and social media posts that the organization describes as harmful to the moral fiber of the digital community.

According to representatives of the KSMBPI, the legal move is part of a broader campaign to professionalize the vlogging industry and ensure that creators remain accountable for the influence they wield over their audiences.
"The digital space is not a lawless land," a spokesperson for the group noted during a press briefing following the filing.
The organization emphasized that while they support creative freedom, that freedom ends when it begins to cross into the territory of indecency and the violation of established social standards.
They argue that the content shared by Salome and Brian has crossed those boundaries repeatedly for the sake of higher engagement and monetization.
The filing has sparked a significant conversation among netizens regarding the responsibilities of modern influencers.
While some argue for the autonomy of creators to post as they see fit on private platforms, the KSMBPI maintains that once content is accessible to the general public, it becomes a matter of public interest and regulation.
As of this writing, neither Salome nor Brian has issued a formal response to the allegations.
The Makati Prosecutor’s Office is expected to summon the parties involved for a preliminary investigation to evaluate the merits of the complaint.
If the prosecutors find sufficient evidence, the case could lead to formal charges being filed in court, potentially setting a major precedent for how online content is monitored and penalized in the Philippines.
Salome Salvi is a Filipino creative who transitioned from independent digital content to the mainstream media landscape. A Fine Arts graduate from the University of the Philippines, she has appeared in various films and television series, including Kitty K7—a project inspired by her own life—and the primetime drama Black Rider. Known for her advocacy and outspoken views on relationship dynamics and personal autonomy, she continues to balance acting with her work as a digital creator and podcast host.
Last year, Salome made a surprise appearance at a recent anti-corruption demonstration in Mendiola, showcasing her commitment to national issues. The digital creator utilized her platform to urge her audience to be more politically active and participate in the protest. Her presence at the event sparked a divided conversation online, with social media users debating her role in political activism. Supporters defended the actress, asserting that her past work should not diminish the sincerity or validity of her stance on government transparency.
