Speaking during the media conference of his latest film Pater Noster, Adamos shared that he immediately decided to trust his child and guide her the best way he knew how.
“I am an LGBT believer. I don’t mind which gender she can take. I was more surprised when she mentioned she can be a boy and girl at the same time. Sabi ko, ganda noon pwede kang artista. Pwede ka ganto ganyan. OK naman,” Adamos said.
He explained that honesty and open communication are essential in parenting, especially when it comes to sensitive matters.

“Just to believe in what they say and for them to believe you as a father na iga-guide mo sila maayos. O kaya magbigay ka ng advise na sensible and bagay sa takbo ng pag-iisip. Best thing you can do is be truthful to them,” he reasoned.
Adamos admitted that there were moments of confusion, particularly when he began noticing changes during his daughter’s college years.
“Daughter ko siya. As far as I am concerned she was a girl until she graduates high school. But right after HS, sa PUP, nagbago gender. Akala ko siyempre mga dinadala sa bahay friends na babae — only for me to realize 'yung iba pala nanliligaw sa kanya,” he recalled.
“After several years iba na naman 'yung dinala. So ano ka ba talaga? She mentioned a gender, I cannot remember. But sige kung ano gusto mo, doon ka. And you are happy,” he added.
Drawing from more than four decades in show business, Adamos said working with people of various gender identities helped shape his accepting perspective.
“Forty years more or less in showbiz, I have been with all genders. Somehow, I have accepted the fact mas marami dito hindi mo ka-gender. They are nice working with. Accepted mo na,” he said.
Joining Adamos in the action thriller are Arron Villaflor and Kayley Carrigan. Directed by Moutaz Kotrob, the film is set to premiere in cinemas on March 25.
