Tommy Esguerra finally revealed the true reason for taking a break from showbiz.
According to the former PBB housemate, he was getting depressed recently which is why he wanted to spend some time away from the limelight.
In a recent interview with PUSH, Tommy said:
I really needed time away. You know like when you’re so focused on what you’re doing, you almost lose sight of why you are doing it or you lose sight of the perspective of how far you’ve made it, where you’re at in life. And I was getting very depressed. This is something I know people don’t talk about or my parents saying I shouldn’t say so much about what I’m going through.
He added that nothing in his life was working out which is why he took a step back in order to see what's wrong.
Nothing was working so because of that, even if I was happy in a relationship, that uneasy feeling is going to come out and is going to affect you, it’s going to affect your relationship. So I had to take a hard look at myself and it’s good.
When asked if he will still come back to acting, Tommy said:
I want to do acting. I will do it. I wanted to take a break and I did. But I also realize that I’m being blessed with the opportunity that I have. I just have to be able to balance because I need my rocks, things to keep me grounded.
