“Dumating sa point na si Papa, dati ang tawag niya sa akin ‘Andrei’ pero ngayon Sofia na,” she explained.
Sofia added that the support extended beyond words and into her personal transition and drag career.
“[Kahit sa] pagda-drag o sa pagiging trans ko, sobrang supportive niya,” she said.
She also noted that her father sometimes helps provide makeup and hormones, emphasizing his encouragement.
“Supportive siya sa ginagawa ko,” she stated.
Expressing gratitude, Sofia described how their bond has grown stronger over time.
“Kaya lately nagiging papa’s girl din ako kasi grabe talaga yung support na nakukuha ko sa kaniya,” she shared. She later added, “Kaya [I’m] super super proud of my father.”
Her disclosure came days after she revealed that she and her mother no longer see each other in person.
“No. di na po kami nagkikita ni mama,” she wrote on X. She explained that fear of a negative reaction and past emotional pain influenced her decision.
“I just want validation and acceptance. wala ng iba,” she said.
Izzy responded online, saying they still communicate privately. Sofia later clarified that her earlier statement referred only to not meeting physically.
Amid these developments, Sofia also shared that she is preparing for a significant medical procedure this month, marking another step in her personal journey.
The SexBomb Girls are a popular Filipino group of dancers and performers. They were formed as a dance group on the noontime show Eat Bulaga!, where they became part of the segment “Laban o Bawi.” The group is known for their energetic and daring dance performances, as well as their catchy songs such as “Spaghetti,” “Get Get Aww,” and “Bakit Papa.” Because of their unique style and strong stage presence, they quickly became a household name and one of the most popular girl groups in the Philippines during their peak. Beyond dancing, the SexBomb Girls also ventured into music, film, and television. Some members, including Rochelle Pangilinan, Jopay Paguia, and Sunshine Garcia, went on to build their own careers in acting and hosting after their time with the group.
In a previous report by KAMI, Cynthia Yap-Chingco posted on Instagram to express gratitude and support for her fellow SexBomb members. Cynthia said that everyone had seen how brave Aira Bermudez was despite what had happened. She added that they were truly “alarmed” by Aira’s situation in the middle of their concert performance.
Meanwhile, in 2025, Rochelle Pangilinan revealed that they had “taken a risk” when they decided to hold a SexBomb reunion concert. She disclosed that “no one wanted to produce it” and that the project was filled with uncertainty. According to Rochelle, their goal was to express gratitude and give a gift to their fans. For her, their fans are the “backbone.”
