Comedian and television personality Boobay is currently recovering after collapsing in the middle of a live performance at a festival show in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro.

The incident happened on January 19 during the Basudani Festival Variety Show, where Boobay was entertaining the crowd when he suddenly fell onstage.

Videos circulating on social media showed the performer losing balance and collapsing, prompting immediate assistance from the event’s medical team.

Sparkle GMA Artist Center later released a statement to reassure the public about Boobay’s condition.

“Sparkle GMA Artist Center assures the public that Boobay is currently stable, and in good condition,” says the talent arm of the Kapuso Network.

The management added that it is prioritizing the comedian’s health and recovery.

"Sparkle is fully supporting his recovery with complete medical care, rest, and regular monitoring. We sincerely thank fans and the public for their concern and kind messages during this time," Sparkle adds.

Boobay also expressed appreciation for the outpouring of support he received following the incident.

"Boobay is grateful for the support and looks forward to returning once fully recovered," the statement continues.

According to GMA Public Affairs, Boobay was able to return to the stage just minutes after the incident, indicating that he was responsive and under close observation at the time.

The brief return was met with applause from the audience, many of whom had been visibly concerned moments earlier.

While the exact cause of the collapse has not been disclosed, Sparkle emphasized that Boobay remains under medical supervision to ensure his full recovery before resuming work commitments.

Fans and fellow artists have since flooded social media with messages wishing him well.
