During an appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Thursday, January 8, former mentor and manager Joy Cancio shared her reaction when several members decided not to renew their contracts.

“Pero syempre, nasaktan ako,” Joy said. She explained that she eventually understood their choice, recalling her own experience of leaving a previous group to pursue personal growth and bigger dreams.

Joy added that had she stayed with her former group, she would not have become the founder, manager, and choreographer of the SexBomb Girls, which helped her accept the decision of the younger members.

Jopay, however, revealed that the decision was discussed among several original members and was agreed upon collectively.

“Napagkaisahan talaga si Ate Joy that day,” she said.

She admitted they were emotionally overwhelmed at the time and described their mindset as immature.

“Sobrang sakit-sakit na po sa amin ’yung mga nangyayari,” Jopay shared.

She also recalled a meeting where each member was asked individually whether they would renew their contracts.

“Tayo ha, lahat na tayo, hindi na tayo magre-renew,” Jopay said, describing how six of them initially stood together before some chose to stay while others left.

For Jopay, leaving the group was especially painful because she never wanted to walk away. “Masakit na iiwan ko ’yung grupo ko,” she said.

After the split, Jopay admitted she faced a period without work or a manager but said she chose not to dwell on the setback and instead focused on moving forward.
