Jak Roberto reveals he’s choosing growth over romance for now

Kapuso actor and entrepreneur Jak Roberto revealed that he is taking his time when it comes to love, saying he is currently content being single and focused on personal development.

Jak made the statement during the sidelines of his contract renewal with Sparkle GMA Artist Center on December 11, where he spoke to 24 Oras about how this phase of his life has allowed him to reflect and grow.
After seven years in a relationship with fellow Kapuso star Barbie Forteza, Jak said he has learned valuable lessons from spending time on his own.
“Hindi ko priority. Ang dami kong na-realize nung naging single ako. Mas focused ka sa sarili mo at mas focused ka sa goals mo,” Jak said in an interview with Nelson Canlas.

According to the actor, staying single opened doors to pursuits he previously did not explore.
“Mas marami palang puwedeng gawing negosyo at hobbies na puwedeng i-explore,” he added.
Jak also shared that 2025 became a turning point for him in understanding the value of self-love and inner peace.
“Iba rin 'yung peace na nakukuha mo sa bahay,” he said.
He echoed a common belief about relationships, saying, “Sabi nga nila, huwag mong hanapin, antayin mo na lang.”
Beyond his personal life, Jak continues to stay busy professionally. He manages his restaurant, D’Crib Sizzling House, and his skincare brand, JC Essentials.
He also recently appeared in the GMA afternoon series "My Father’s Wife," which wrapped up in October 2025.
Meanwhile, other artists who renewed their Sparkle contracts include Thea Tolentino and Roy Cabrera, while Bianca King, Gwen Zamora, and Miggs Cuaderno returned to the agency.
Sparkle also welcomed new members such as Regine Tolentino, Jess Martinez, and Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines 2025 winners Tyrone Tan and Ysa Uy.
GMA Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to its talents.
“We will continue to strive to help all the artists of Sparkle and develop them further,” she said.
Barbie Forteza is a well-known Kapuso actress, television host, and content creator who first gained public attention for her role as Young Jodi in GMA Network’s 2009 remake of Stairway to Heaven. Her career continued to flourish as she took on leading roles in several hit primetime dramas, including The Half Sisters, Meant to Be, Maria Clara at Ibarra, and Pulang Araw. Often referred to as the “Kapuso Primetime Princess,” Barbie has earned multiple prestigious accolades such as FAMAS and Gawad Urian awards, further cementing her standing in the Philippine entertainment industry.

More recently, Barbie has once again become a topic of online discussion following the circulation of a candid video featuring her and Jameson Blake. The clip, first shared by Instagram user @the_oscarbrad, appears to have been taken in a parking area, reportedly on the premiere night of P77. In the video, Barbie is seen noticing Jameson from a distance, then running toward him with visible excitement before wrapping him in a warm and affectionate hug, a moment that quickly drew reactions from fans across social media platforms.
