Enrique Gil is stepping into the Metro Manila Film Festival this year with the action-drama "Manila’s Finest," and while the actor is enjoying the momentum of his career, he also admits he is entering 2026 with an open heart.

In an interview held in Quezon City, the actor confirmed that he remains unattached but is hopeful that love may find him soon.

He said, "Hopefully maybe 2026," and added that he is open to whatever the new year brings.

Gil leads the film’s strong ensemble, which features Piolo Pascual, Rica Peralejo, Cedrick Juan, Ashtine Olviga, and several other notable stars.

The cast shared glimpses of their experience working together and praised the dedication they witnessed on set.

Ashtine Olviga recalled being in awe of Pascual’s professionalism.

She said, "Na-star struck ako kay Sir Piolo."

She went on to describe how the veteran actor reviews every take not to check his appearance but to maintain continuity.

She added that she learned a lot from observing his discipline and attention to detail.

Cedrick Juan also spoke about the unique challenges of filming the project. He said, "I really had to study about the Philippine Constabulary."

She noted that the story’s pre–martial law setting required him to do extra research to portray his role authentically.

The historical backdrop, he shared, gave him a deeper appreciation for the period and the people who lived through it.

With its mix of seasoned actors, historical elements, and compelling narrative, "Manila’s Finest" is gearing up to be one of the festival’s most anticipated offerings.

Enrique Gil is a well-known Filipino actor and dancer who has made a significant mark in both television and film. He began his career in 2008 with minor roles, including his portrayal of Harold in the drama series Pieta. His big break came in 2014 when he starred as Alexander “Xander” Grande III in the hit teleserye Forevermore alongside Liza Soberano. Since then, Enrique has appeared in numerous popular TV series such as Dolce Amore and Make It With You, as well as box-office hits like My Ex and Whys and Alone/Together.

Liza Soberano officially confirmed her breakup with Enrique Gil in Sarah Bahbah’s YouTube series Can You Come in?. She revealed that the couple chose to keep their separation private, explaining that it was Enrique’s idea not to discuss it publicly. Liza said she agreed to maintain privacy to avoid disappointing fans and to protect her career.
