But her Hyrox preparation pushed her to commit to a schedule of running three times a week.
She explained that she stayed disciplined once she learned about the upcoming AIA event so she wouldn’t lose momentum.
At 40 years old, Solenn set a personal goal that many athletes her age might find intimidating.
She said her aim was to surpass her fastest 10K time from when she was 28.
“Though I am 40, my goal was to beat my fastest 10km I did when I was 28,” she shared.
Her hard work paid off when she crossed the finish line at 58 minutes and 43 seconds, earning 3rd place in her category out of 125 runners.
The accomplishment changed the way she viewed the sport.
“This result and the way I felt made me not hate the run so much,” she said.
She also mentioned that she is now excited for the next race as she hopes to set an even better time.
Solenn expressed gratitude to fellow runners Wil Dasovich and Ben Alves for keeping her spirits high during the event. She also thanked Caloy for pacing her throughout the race, acknowledging that their support helped fuel her strong finish.
