"Missing you every single day. It's hard to believe it's already been half a year. Somehow, time has gone by both so quickly and so slowly," she began.

​She admitted that even simple questions about her well-being feel impossible to answer honestly now.

​"People still ask, 'How are you?' and honestly, I never really know how to answer. Some days feel lighter, but on others, missing my dad hits me all over again."

In her Instagram post, ​Ara bravely questioned the popular notion that time is the ultimate healer, suggesting that grief is instead something one learns to coexist with.

​"People say time heals everything, but I'm not sure that's true for a grieving heart. I think you just learn to live with missing them, to carry the loss alongside the laughter, the joy, and the love that never fades," she wrote.

​It is worth recalling that Ricky had passed away earlier this year, back in May, after facing complications during his bout with cancer.

Ricky Davao was a Filipino actor and TV director whose career spanned over decades. His notable performances include roles in Abot Hanggang Sukdulan, Saranggola, and Ipaglaban Mo: The Movie, earning him accolades from prestigious award-giving bodies. Beyond acting, he also made significant contributions as a director. In his personal life, he was once married to actress Jackie Lou Blanco, with whom he had three children before their separation in 2011. Despite their separation, they maintained a collaborative relationship, even reuniting on-screen in 2021.

As previously reported by KAMI, Ara Davao mourned the passing of her beloved dog Rogue after ten years of companionship. The actress posted touching photos of Rogue especially ones with her late father Ricky Davao which hold special meaning for her. Ara recalled fond memories of Rogue being affectionate, excited for treats, and needing comfort during storms or vet visits. She expressed gratitude for their time together and comfort in imagining her father and Rogue reunited as companions in heaven.

Meanwhile, Ara Davao also touched the hearts of countless netizens after she took to Instagram to pen a heartbreaking note about her father's passing. According to Ara, it is still very hard to believe that her father had already passed this year. Despite the pain, Ara said she will try her very best to keep living her "best life everyday."
