In a recent interview with "Elle" magazine ahead of her concert in New York, Rodrigo confirmed that she is already working on her third studio album.
Toward the end of the discussion, "Elle" deputy editor Erica Gonzales, who is also Filipino-American, asked about the singer’s experience during her Philippine homecoming concert last November.
The “Vampire” hitmaker fondly recalled that trip as a meaningful one, especially since all proceeds from her Manila concert were donated to Jhpiego, an organization that supports women’s and girls’ healthcare.

“Just on a personal level, I had just never been to the Philippines and I wasn't born there. I don't speak Tagalog very well,” Rodrigo shared.
“I kind of had a chip on my shoulder like, ‘Oh gosh, I hope that they accept me and they see me as a Filipino and I'm a source of pride for them,’ I always wanted that to be the case.”
The 21-year-old singer said she felt deeply touched by the warm welcome from fans.
“I love the Philippines so much and I can't wait to go back,” she said. Rodrigo added that she hopes to return soon to explore outside Manila — “to swim in the beautiful oceans and see all the beaches.”
