More than two decades since the original series captivated viewers, the magic of the land of Encantadia continues to resonate, thanks in no small part to its passionate following, affectionately known as "Encantadiks."
In a recent television interview, Karylle, who brought to life the original Sang'gre Alena in the 2005 series, spoke with genuine enthusiasm about the enduring love the fans harbor for the high-fantasy teleserye.
This unwavering devotion spans generations, uniting viewers both young and old under the spell of the narrative.
"The fans' love for Encantadia just never fades," Karylle shared. "Siguro the best part is nakikita namin 'yung mga bata lumaki with Encantadia. So ngayon, Sang'gre naman pinapanood nila."
Her words highlight a powerful sense of pride in the franchise's ability to maintain relevance and draw new audiences into its mythical world.
The original cast, which included Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, and Diana Zubiri alongside Karylle, paved the way for the saga.
Now, Karylle is excited to witness the new generation of actresses taking on the mantle of the protectors of the elemental gems, or Brilyantes.
She expressed particular delight in her encounters with Bianca Umali, who plays the New-Gen Sang'gre Terra in the upcoming series, Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre.
Karylle noted that she frequently crosses paths with Umali during their respective hosting duties at the ABS-CBN noontime program It's Showtime.
“Si Bianca palagi nasa It's Showtime, nakakatuwa naman,” Karylle recounted, adding that they often strike a pose mimicking the Sang'gres holding their elemental gems.
This camaraderie between the "Originals" and the "New Blood" symbolizes a beautiful passing of the torch within the Filipino pop culture landscape.
The enduring connection to the series is also evident in the smaller, more organic moments. Fans recently went wild during an It's Showtime commercial break when Karylle spontaneously performed one of the beloved songs from the Encantadia soundtrack.
"Every time kinakanta ko lately 'yung 'Mahiwagang Puso,' tuwang-tuwa sila," she happily revealed, highlighting how deeply embedded the fantasy world's music and themes remain in the hearts of the audience.

Karylle’s sentiment is clear: the continued success of the Encantadia franchise is a testament to the loyalty and passion of the Encantadiks, whose support fuels its legacy across different networks and eras.
