Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza and TV host-comedienne Melai Cantiveros-Francisco have each donated ₱100,000 to assist those affected by the powerful 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu on September 30.

The quake, followed by several aftershocks, left hundreds injured and caused multiple fatalities across the province.
Save the Children Philippines announced that Barbie, who has been serving as its ambassador since last year, contributed her donation to support the organization’s ongoing relief initiatives and educational programs for affected children.
The group also shared Barbie’s message emphasizing the importance of child welfare during crises.

“Children have the right to protection and education, even in the most difficult circumstances,” Barbie said.
“I hope more people will come together to support the children of Northern Cebu, because they deserve to feel safe, cared for, and hopeful again.”
Meanwhile, Bisaya content creator Randolph Valmoria, known online as Run Dolph Vibes, revealed on Facebook that Melai also extended ₱100,000 to their community fundraising efforts.
He shared a screenshot of Melai’s message for transparency, encouraging other fundraisers to maintain accountability and warning donors not to be misled by corrupt individuals.
Valmoria expressed gratitude for Melai’s consistent compassion, recalling her active participation in relief drives during the pandemic.
Both Melai and Barbie continue to urge the public to extend help to families and children recovering from the disaster in Cebu.
Melai Cantiveros is a prominent showbiz personality in the Philippines. She became famous in 2009 after winning "Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up." She also won the first season of the Filipino version of "Your Face Sounds Familiar" in 2015. She is happily married to Jason Francisco, and they have two wonderful children named Mela and Stela.
