During a Thursday guesting on the talk show Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, where she appeared alongside fellow host Cianne Dominguez, the dancer-host was directly confronted by veteran journalist Boy Abunda regarding the constant buzz surrounding her and the younger singer.
Abunda’s first question was straightforward: "Are you and Darren a couple now?"
Gonzaga, known affectionately as "Ate Girl Jackie," responded with a definitive denial, delivered with a smile that softened the blow for their hopeful shippers.
“Tito Boy, hindi naman po. Hindi po kami ni Darren,” she stated, but the curiosity of Abunda, and millions of viewers, didn't stop there.
The talk show host immediately followed up, asking if Espanto was at least in the process of courting her. Again, Gonzaga’s answer was clear. “Hindi naman din po,” she replied, maintaining her composure and her playful demeanor.
The most engaging moment, however, came right after her clarification. With a mischievous glint, Gonzaga turned to the camera and playfully asked the absent pop singer, “malalaman natin. Gusto mo ba?”
Her lighthearted retort simultaneously entertained the audience and kept the door slightly ajar on the possibility of a future romantic development, acknowledging the chemistry that has fueled the "Dakie" phenomenon.
Gonzaga was quick to elaborate on the true nature of their bond, explaining that the strong connection seen on-screen is a reflection of the unique environment of the noontime program.
“Sa amin po kami sa It’s Showtime sobrang close po naming lahat. ‘Yung relationship namin talaga roon, iba po talaga. Kasi everyday tito, talagang magkasama,” she explained, suggesting their everyday working relationship naturally fosters the palpable camaraderie and teasing moments the audience loves.
The line of questioning took another turn when Abunda referred back to a previous segment of the show’s "Fast Talk" segment, where Gonzaga had previously revealed that the person she was currently dating was "mas bata" (younger) than her.
This remark, of course, instantly led Abunda to ask if she was subtly confirming that the younger man was Espanto.
Gonzaga laughed and firmly clarified her statement, stating that while the person she is dating is younger, it is not necessarily Darren.
“Tito Boy, lately ‘yung mga lumalapit sa akin younger talaga sa akin,” she clarified, maintaining the privacy of her current dating life while confirming that she has indeed been receiving attention from younger suitors, without explicitly confirming if any of them is Espanto.
This revelation added another layer of intrigue to her personal life while confidently navigating the persistent queries about her love team partner.
Jackie Gonzaga began her career as a dancer on the noontime variety show, It's Showtime. She eventually transitioned to become one of the program's main hosts, a move often attributed to the guidance and support of the show's superstar, Vice Ganda.
Recently, actor Jak Roberto and Jackie made rounds on social media. This was after the Kapuso actor shared a video of himself grooving with the “It’s Showtime” host. In the dance video, the two celebrities danced to “Let's Groove” by Earth, Wind & Fire. The entertaining video immediately garnered tons of views on social media platforms.
Previously, Jackie and Darren created buzz on socmed with their video taken from the year-end party of the “It’s Showtime” surfaced online. In the video, Jackie and Darren were seen doing a sizzling dance number. The performance received loud cheers from the noontime show’s staff members.
