Arjo Atayde releases statement over alleged involvement in flood control project mess

- He said that the said officials would normally ask for 10% up to 25% from the project's value
- Several lawmakers have already issued their statments denying the allegations, while there are still others who haven't released their statments yet

Arjo Atayde, Representative of Quezon City’s 1st District, strongly denied the allegations made against him.
Earlier today, contractor Curlee Discaya named several lawmakers and DPWH officials who were allegedly linked to the flood control project controversy.
Discaya claimed that these officials usually demanded 10% to 25% of a project’s value.
Some lawmakers have already released statements denying the accusations, while others have yet to respond.

On MJ Felipe's X, he quoted Rep. Atayde's statement to ABS-CBN News:
"I categorically deny the allegation that I benefited from any contractor. I have never dealt with them. Hindi po totoo ang mga akusasyon na ito. I have never used my position for personal gain, and I never will. I will avail of all remedies under the law to clear my name and hold accountable those who spread these falsehoods."
The Philippines' Senate Blue Ribbon is currently holding a hearing about the anomalous flood control projects.
Currently, the licenses of Discayas' 9 construction companies have already been revoked by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB).

In a previous report by KAMI, contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II, husband of Sarah Discaya, released a list of several congressmen and DPWH officials who allegedly asked for money in exchange for projects. He said their company had no choice because if they did not comply, the contract would be delayed or canceled. According to Discaya, the officials allegedly demanded 10% to 25% of the project’s value. He also named several DPWH officials who were allegedly involved in the flood control project anomaly.
Additionally, Korina Sanchez-Roxas recently posted on her Instagram account. There, she posed in front of a beautiful palace while she was in Disneyland. However, she also made fun of it in relation to the recent issue involving her. She wrote in the first part of her post, "My P10 Million Palace," which was somehow related to the allegations thrown against her by Mayor Vico Sotto.
