Yasmien Kurdi sheds tears as she recalls Ayesha's bullying experience

Yasmien Kurdi, an actress and celebrity mom, recently sat down for an emotional interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, where she shared updates about her daughter, Ayesha Zara Soldevilla.

In 2024, Yasmien made headlines after revealing that Ayesha had been a victim of school bullying. Months later, she tearfully recounted the difficult journey her daughter endured, including undergoing therapy for half a year in her most-latest interview with the 'King of Talk.'

"Nag-therapy siya for six months na tuloy tuloy and it's very helpful for her dahil kasi dun sa mga panic and anxiety attacks niya. Nung nag-therapy siya, ang ginawa namin is nag-homeschooling agad siya kasi I pulled her out right away kasi yun yung feeling ko na I have to protect her. Kailangan tanggalin ko na siya agad dun sa environment na yun," Yasmien told Boy Abunda.

When asked what advice she would give to other parents who might be facing a similar situation, Yasmien stressed the utmost importance of open communication, constantly, with the child.

"I encourage open communication with the child all the time. Kailangan talaga yung mga kids i-kwento nila lahat kay mommy and daddy. Wag silang matakot, wag silang mahihiya, walang ikakahiya dito. You don't have to be ashamed of anything," she mentioned during the interview.

The actress also pointed out that signs of bullying are often noticeable if parents pay close attention. "Andun kasi yun eh, makikita mo kasi yung signs ng bullying. Tignan mo rin yun anak mo, may nagbago ba sa kanya?" she said, emphasizing how the 'red flags' can be seen.

Becoming visibly emotional, Yasmien recalled the changes she witnessed in Ayesha, "Extrovert kasi siya, outgoing, tas biglang makikita mo na magiging tahimik yun bata tas andun sa kwarto na lang, umiiyak, naririnig ko. I know, mom ako eh. Alam ko na nasasaktan yung anak ko, alam ko na there's something wrong kahit hindi siya magsalita. Yung sakit sakin lagpas, doble."

Through her candid sharing, Yasmien hopes her experience will inspire more parents to be attentive, proactive, and compassionate when it comes to their children's emotional well-being.
