GMA Pictures' official entry to the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival, "Green Bones," is already an awards darling.

Its FAMAS nominations include some of the night's most coveted honors: Best Picture, Best Director for Zig Dulay, Best Actor for Dennis Trillo, Best Supporting Actor for Ruru Madrid, and Best Supporting Actress for Alessandra De Rossi.

The film's critical success is well-documented, having previously won Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor at the MMFF, along with Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay at The EDDYS.

Not to be outdone, "Balota" received a strong showing with nominations for Best Picture, Best Actress for Marian Rivera, and Best Supporting Actor for Will Ashley.

Marian's nomination is particularly notable, as she has already been lauded for her performance in the film, winning her first-ever acting award as Best Actress (a tie with Gabby Padilla) at Cinemalaya 2024.

Ashley's nomination also highlights a strong performance that is gaining industry attention.

The blockbuster hit "Hello Love Again," which broke box office records in 2024, also received significant recognition with five nominations.

Their nominations underscore the blend of commercial appeal and critical acclaim that defines this year's awards.

Dennis Trillo is a Kapuso actor, recording artist, and model. He is known for playing the role of Eric del Mundo in "My Husband’s Lover." He also played the role of Crisostomo Ibarra and Simoun in the multi-awarded series "Maria Clara at Ibarra." He likewise starred in several movies such as "Mano Po III: My Love," "Mulawin: The Movie," "Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love," "You're Still the One," and many more. His awards include Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor.

In a video that the actor shared online, one can see him and his wife, Jennylyn Mercado, both of them wearing masks with the actor also wearing a cap, go to a mall to see a movie. According to Dennis, they’re there to watch their MMFF co-entry, “The Kingdom.” They then checked out the line forming towards Dennis’ own movie, “Green Bones” and even when he took off his mask, people seemed oblivious to his presence.

It can be recalled that the actor won the Best Actor Award in the latest Metro Manila Film Festival. The movie where he stood out in his performance was "Green Bones." Judy Ann Santos won the Best Actress award in MMFF for the movie "Espantaho." "Green Bones" won several awards in the latest MMFF.
