Jessy’s candid remarks, made during an interview with entertainment personality Ogie Diaz, highlighted the profound shifts in Luis’ priorities since becoming a husband and, more notably, a father to their daughter, Isabella Rose "Rosie" Tawile Manzano.
The actress and celebrity mom articulated that Luis, a seasoned television host and actor, has undergone a significant personal evolution.
Before starting a family, his focus was primarily on his individual career and needs. However, the responsibilities of marriage and parenthood, particularly since Rosie’s birth in December 2022, have reshaped his outlook.
"Malaki ang pagbabago kasi syempre of course when he was single, he used to work only for himself," Jessy explained. "And I am not shy, I am not embarrassed to say or to admit that he [Luis] is a very good provider."
She further lauded him as one of the most hardworking individuals she has ever known, emphasizing that having his own family has been pivotal to his maturation, redirecting his efforts from personal gain to familial support.
The actress also reflected on her own personal growth, largely spurred by the experience of motherhood.
Jessy conveyed that becoming a mother has instilled in her a new level of bravery and a clearer perspective on life's challenges.
She noted a shift in her approach to public scrutiny and personal battles, learning to selectively engage.
"Lalo akong tumapang nung naging mommy ako," she shared. "Ganon pala talaga 'yun noh. ‘Pag may nangyari sa anak mo or pag nagkakasakit siya, sasabihin mo talaga ‘sana ako nalang, wag nalang siya.’ 'Yung ibalato mo nalang siya, ako nalang. So talagang gagawin mo talaga ang lahat para sa anak mo."
This newfound wisdom, Jessy added, has taught her to conserve her energy for what truly matters. "‘Wag mo na patulan ang lahat ng bagay. Ilagay mo kung saan dapat ‘yung energy mo. Kasi sa akin before nung hindi pa ako nanay, lahat pinapatulan (ko). ‘Yung ngang mga ka-cheap-ang issue pinatulan ko pa," she admitted. "So, learn where to put your energy para rin ma-save mo ‘yun para anak mo or sa pamilya mo."
After a temporary hiatus from the limelight to focus on her family, Jessy recently marked her return to acting with a significant role in the crime thriller mystery drama "Sins of the Father," where she portrays the character of Agnes Policarpio
As a hands-on mother, she expressed immense gratitude to her management for valuing her time and trusting her with such a prominent project.
The actress articulated her desire to balance her career ambitions with her commitment to being physically present for her family.
She meticulously manages her schedule to ensure she can actively participate in every aspect of Rosie's life, from daily decisions to playtime.
Jessy and Luis, who celebrated their civil wedding in February 2021 and a church wedding in April 2024, continue to navigate their roles as public figures and dedicated parents, showcasing a partnership built on mutual respect and evolving priorities.
