She told us that if we counted one thousand steps with her, we would get a prize at the finish line," Maymay wrote before recalling how the promised prize made the walk effortless, "When we finally reached the end, we found ourselves at McDonald's. Our prize was ice cream."

As the post continued, Maymay reflected on the strength and resilience of her mother, revealing what she learned about her mother, "Later on, I learned that my mother never had her own car or any easy way to get around. She walked everywhere, every day, working multiple jobs just to provide for us. Those smiles of hers will forever stay in my mind. They will always remind me how strong of a woman she truly was — selfless, resilient, and full of unconditional love."

Maymay ended her tribute with a moving message that went viral: "She didn't give us much in terms of material things, but she gave us everything that really mattered. And for that, I'll always be grateful. Sobrang miss ko na si Inay but may this memory bless you as it has blessed me."
