Red passed away on May 27, his wife, Sandy Sternberg, confirmed.

In a Facebook post, Sandy announced the demise of her husband at the age of 50. According to her, her spouse died in the morning of May 27. Red would have turned 51 last Friday, May 30.

"My husband suddenly passed away the morning of Tuesday, May 27th. To those who knew him from his early acting days, he was 'Kiko,' but to our three kids and I he was simply Daddy/Dada. Today would have been his 51st birthday," Sandy's heartbreaking post published on Friday reads.

"Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. I would kindly request our need for privacy at this time as we navigate this difficult journey," she added.

In the Philippine teen-oriented television series 'T.G.I.S.' (Thank God It's Sabado), which aired from 1995 to 1999 on GMA Network, the character Kiko was portrayed by Red.
