Alora Sasam, a Kapamilya actress, has opened up about one of the most emotional moments of her life during a guest appearance on Think, Talk, Tea, a YouTube podcast hosted by Kring Kim.
In the episode, Alora was asked about her "pinaka-worst" experience back when she was still a practicing nurse — a question that brought her back to a deeply personal and painful memory.

"Pinaka-worst yung third year ako. Nagka-critical patient ako. Na-assign ako sa public hospital na mini ICU. Pag hindi na kaya, ang ICU talaga kasi mga indigent, dun sila sa may ginawa lang na room sa may emergency area. Yung family, hindi nila kaya yung mag-mechanical ventilation so ambu bag talaga siya," Alora began, recalling the story that still resonates with her to this day.
She described how the patient was in a coma due to head trauma who had a case of a mistaken identity: "Ano siya... coma siya, may head trauma, lalaki." As part of their clinical duties, Alora and her fellow student nurse were assigned to manually pump air into the patient using an ambu bag.

"Eh every duty, dalawa kami niyan. Tandem talaga na student nurse. Tas yun nga, yung one time na critical talaga yung condition niya, kami talaga yung naga-ambu bag, mga 8 hours," she shared, emphasizing the grueling hours they spent trying to keep the critical patient alive as a nurse.
Alora went on to detail how she rushed her lunch just to get back to her duty faster — only to be met with devastating news upon her return, "Pagbalik ko, in-ECG na siya, tapos hindi ko napansin yung doctor tapos sinabi na, 'Stop the ambu bag na' kasi ka-cut na raw. Bumigay na yung patient."
What followed was a moment of overwhelming grief and disillusionment for Alora back then.
"Sa sobrang na-attach ata ako, as in na-shock ako na seryoso talaga yung trabaho namin," she admitted, capturing the harsh reality of the medical profession that healthcare workers face.
Unable to contain her emotions, Alora revealed that she did not return to her groupmate after the incident, "Hindi ako bumalik dun sa ka-grupo ko, pumunta ako sa storage area, umiyak ako dun. Nag-walling ako dun. Umiyak talaga ako kasi sabi ko ayoko mamatayan ng ganito."
