National Artist Nora Aunor would have turned 72 years old on Wednesday, May 21, and her daughter Lotlot de Leon took the time to remember her on her birthday.

Lotlot has taken to her Instagram page, @ms.lotlotdeleon, to share a heartfelt post about the special day.

Alongside a photo of beautiful flowers offered to the late Superstar of Philippine cinema, Lotlot penned a short yet love-filled message to her adoptive mother.

“Happy birthday in heaven, mommy!” she affectionately wished.

The actress likewise reiterated her love for the deceased national artist.

“I will always love you,” wrote Lotlot, who promised to spend her life loving Nora.

It is also worth noting that Lotlot has recently been sharing online posts about the late Ate Guy. One her recent posts displays a touching moment from her visit to the grave of her late mother.

On May 9, the actress took to Instagram to post a family photo captured during their visit to Libingan ng mga Bayani, where they gathered to honor and remember Nora's life and legacy. Also spotted in the photo was Janine Gutierrez's boyfriend, Jericho Rosales.

Nora Aunor is a celebrated Filipino actress, singer, and producer. Known as the 'Superstar of Philippine cinema, she has earned critical acclaim for her powerful performances in films such as Himala, Bona, and The Flor Contemplacion Story. Her contributions to the arts were recognized in 2022 when she was named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts. In 1975, Nora married fellow actor Christopher de Leon. They have one biological son, Ian de Leon, and adopted four children: Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth de Leon.

Nora, who is also affectionately known as “Ate Guy,” and “La Aunor,” passed away on April 16, 2025 at 71 years old. She died of acute respiratory failure, her son Ian de Leon revealed. The late veteran actress left behind a legacy defined by unparalleled talent and a profound impact on the nation’s cultural heritage.

Lotlot de Leon expressed her pride and gratitude after her late mother Nora Aunor received the Presidential Medal of Merit from President Bongbong Marcos. Nora’s daughter posted screenshots of her siblings, including Ian and Matet de Leon, accepting the award on behalf of their mother. The actress called the honor a powerful affirmation of Ate Guy’s legacy in shaping Filipino culture and identity. She thanked the President, First Lady, and all the fans who continue to love and honor Nora Aunor’s memory.

In another report, the Office of the President and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. have taken care of the hospital bills, debts, and other expenses left behind by veteran actress and National Artist Nora Aunor, a Palace official confirmed. According to Communications Senior Undersecretary Ana Puod, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Mel Robles verified that it was the Office of the President and President Marcos himself who shouldered the late superstar’s financial obligations.
