Before Dennis Padilla’s controversial outburst about the wedding of Claudia Barretto and Basti Lorenzo, he shared that he had intended to give his daughter his “own souvenir” along with two jars of bagoong, as per Inquirer.

Barretto and Lorenzo—son of businessman Martin Lorenzo, who owns a chain of restaurants and other enterprises—were wed in a modest church ceremony in Alabang on April 9.

During a recent Facebook Live, Padilla presented the wedding gifts he had prepared for the couple.

These included a white cap embroidered with the word “astig,” a box featuring the actor-comedian’s face, and two kinds of bagoong.

Although the video was no longer available on Padilla’s official Facebook page, it was reuploaded by netizens across various social media platforms.

“It’s an exciting day today. Prepare ko muna ang mga gifts ko. Una, ang aking souvenir para sa kanilang dalawa, ang ‘astig’ cap. And then, siyempre, meron din akong binalot na [bagoong], dalawang flavor yan: merong sweet at merong spicy. Babalutin ko ito,” he said.

He further mentioned that he bought his barong in Pandi, Bulacan, while his undershirt and pants came from a well-known brand.

He also wore black leather shoes he originally purchased in 2016, which he had polished for the occasion.

Claudia Barretto is a Filipino singer and social media personality, recognized for her musical talents. She is the daughter of actress Marjorie Barretto and actor Dennis Padilla, making her part of the prominent Barretto family. She has four maternal siblings: Dani, Julia, Leon, and Erich. Despite the family's public profile, Claudia has carved her own path, particularly in the field of music. She pursued higher education and graduated with a degree in Psychology from Ateneo de Manila University in August 2022.

Recently, Julia also dropped some cryptic posts on Instagram Stories. In her series of posts, the actress shared quote cards about narcissists. Two of the quote cards tackled narcissistic parents while the other one discussed a “narcissist’s favorite role.” She shared the posts after Dennis Padilla complained about not being acknowledged as the “father of the bride” during Claudia’s wedding.

Previously, Julia and Dani Barretto were spotted having a great time at Claudia and Basti Lorenzo's wedding reception. Pocholo Barretto shared on Instagram Stories a video of Julia and Dani doing cute poses at the venue. Pocholo likewise used the song ‘Don't Worry, Be Happy’ by Bobby McFerrin as background music. It is worth noting that Julia and Dani both reposted the said video on their respective accounts.
