Barbie Hsu, prior to her demise, has been dealing with a number of health complications.
According to GMA News, citing Focus Taiwan, Barbie used to deal with epilepsy and mitral valve prolapse, the latter of which is a heart disease.
She also revealed in the same interview with Focus Taiwan that she almost died from a heart seizure at the time that she gave birth to her son in 2016.
The Taiwanese actress died at a young age of 48.

She and her family, including her younger sister Dee Hsu went to Japan for a vacation.
However, she caught influenza, which got worse, causing her to be hospitalized.
Eventually, her condition progressed to pneumonia, eventually leading to her death.
