Ogie Diaz has revealed an info coming allegedly from his source with regards to the movie that is currently leading in the ongoing Metro Manila Film Festival or MMFF.
It can be recalled that MMFF 2024 has 10 entries which consisting of the movies “And The Breadwinner Is,” “Espantaho,” “Green Bones,” “Hold Me Close,” “Isang Himala,” “My Future You,” “Strange Frequencies,” “The Kingdom,” “Topakk,” and “Uninvited.”
These movies include heavyweights in the Pinoy showbiz industry that include Vilma Santos, Judy Ann Santos, Vice Ganda, Julia Montes, Julia Barretto, Dennis Trillo, and many more.
In a Facebook post, Ogie bared the info allegedly forwarded by his source, saying that leading the pack supposedly is the movie of Vice Ganda, “And The Breadwinner Is.”

The showbiz reporter and talent manager also said that according to his source, the gross sales of the movie allegedly ranked second doesn’t even come halfway to that earned by the movie of Vice.
“According to my source, nangunguna ang movie ni Vice Ganda sa boxoffice. Wala pa daw sa kalahati ng gross nito ang #2 nung opening day nito nung Pasko,” Ogie said.
He then revealed the alleged current ranking as forwarded to him by his source.
1. And The Breadwinner Is…
2. The Kingdom
3. Espantaho
4. Uninvited
5. Green Bones
6. Topakk
7. My Future You
8. Strange Frequencies
9. Hold Me Close
10. Isang Himala
Mama Ogs, however, did not dismiss the possibility that his source might be incorrect with regards to the alleged current ranking of the movie entries.
“Kung totoo man ito, congrats. Kung hindi, paki-correct na lang ang ranking kung mali ang source ko,” Ogie said.
“Kung buhos ang manonood nung Pasko, ngayong Dec. 26, mas dagsa pa din daw nung Pasko. Siguro nga, may pasok na kasi sa opisina. At very hopeful naman ang aming kausap na babawi ito towards the weekend. At nauso na rin kasi yung online pre-selling, kaya hindi na oa sa pila sa takilya,” he added.
Ogie then gave his two cents on what all entries went through, which include mall shows and the like.
“Ang pagpo-produce ng pelikula ay para kang nagsusugal. Kung 10M ang puhunan mo, para maka-break even ka, ita-times 3 mo yon so at least maka-30M ka,” the showbiz reporter and talent manager said.
“For example, may isang pelikula diyan, 90M ang puhunan; yung isa naman ay 68M. Yung isa ay 60M naman. So i-times 3 mo yon para mabalik lang ang puhunan. Wala pa yung kita doon,” Ogie also said.
“Ang gastos pa naman pag kasali sa Filmfest. Sampung Tagalog movies ang naglalaban-laban,” he further said.
“Dahil kailangang maramdaman ang pelikula mo sa garbo ng paraan ng promo na may mga kasama pang out of town mall shows, magastos din yon,” Ogie said about the movie entries.
The showbiz reporter then gave an unsolicited advice to the MMDA and also gave his take on the current trend among movie viewers.
“Kaya sa MMDA, baka mai-consider nyong 6 to 8 entries na lang next year para malaki ang chance na kumita lahat. O kahit man lang maibalik ang puhunan,” the showbiz reporter and talent manager said.
“Lalo na at nandiyan ang mga streaming platforms kung ayaw na nilang lumabas ng bahay para manood ng sine,” he added.
“Mabibilib ka lang talaga sa mga producers sa desire nilang maibalik ang sigla ng panonood ng sine ng mga tao,” Ogie further said.
The Metro Manila Development Authority or MMDA is in charge of the MMFF.
Near the end of his post, Ogie expressed hopes that there will be no more controversies during the awards night.
“Awards night na bukas. Hindi nawawala ang kontrobersiya diyan, lalo na pag hinahaluan ng pulitika. Wag naman sana,” he said.
“Magbabago pa ang trend niyan after the awards night. Normally, pag humahakot ng awards, naku-curious ang mga tao na panoorin,” the showbiz reporter and talent manager said.
“Nakanood ka na ba? Ano napanood mo? Baka type mong i-flex at i-reco. Comment below,” Ogie concluded.
