Mark Escueta, the drummer and one of the founding members of the legendary Pinoy rock band, Rivermaya, recently shared a meaningful post on Facebook for Rico Blanco.

Rico is also one of the founding members of the OPM band.

While he left the band in 2007 to pursue his own career, he maintained good relations with his former bandmates and even joining them in a reunion and international tour.

In a very simple, yet meaningful post, Mark shared where his support lies.

“#TeamRico 🫶,” Mark’s post on Facebook read.

Recently, Rico’s name once again populated the newsfeeds in various social media platforms when his ex-girlfriend, Maris Racal, got embroiled in a controversy.

It all started when Jamela Villanueva, the ex-girlfriend of actor Anthony Jennings and the on-screen partner of Maris, shared screenshots of alleged conversation between her and Anthony, as well as between the actor and Maris.

Eventually, Rico’s name was dragged into the picture as netizens have long been speculating about the real cause of his and Maris’ separation.

It can be recalled that Rico and Maris called it quits after several years of being a couple with the latter making the announcement last July 12.

One of the controversial screenshots shared by Jamela had a timestamp of July 15, where allegedly something happened between Anthony and Maris.

After the controversial screenshots came out, throngs of netizens sympathized with Rico, with many of them praising him for “dodging a bullet.”

Rico Blanco is a Pinoy singer, songwriter, actor, record producer, endorser, and entrepreneur. He rose to fame as one of the founding members, and served as the main songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist of the Filipino rock band Rivermaya from 1994 until 2007, and has been a solo artist since 2008. Rico’s songs and performances gained success and critical acclaim, earning himself a reputation of being one of the well-received local music icons in the Philippines.

Last July, Rico took to Instagram and shared the first few notes of the hit song "Kisapmata" of Rivermaya. In the video, he could be seen seated in his studio, with his computers in front of him. He then captioned the video that it was the POV of someone who is ready for the world to hear the track that one has been working on. He then wrote the date "07.19.24" in the caption followed by two emojis, one that of a sparkle, and an eye.

Around the same time, Rico trended on the social media platform X after his ex-girlfriend, Maris Racal revealed that she and the singer have ended their relationship. As of July 13, 2024, "Rico Blanco" was able to stay on top of the trends. It was only yesterday, July 12, when Maris decided to open up about her relationship with the Rivermaya singer. Many also noticed that posts of Rico on IG, wherein he posted the first few notes of "Kisapmata," as well as a video of his parents.
