Liam Payne was found to have several illegal substances in his system, according to initial toxicology reports from US media on Monday.

ABC News and TMZ reported that a cocktail known as "pink cocaine" was discovered during a partial autopsy.

Crack cocaine and benzodiazepine were also detected.

It can be recalled that a hotel staff called emergency services to report a guest who was "overwhelmed by drugs and alcohol" and "destroying" a hotel room.

Authorities have also interviewed a hotel employee suspected of supplying Payne with drugs on the day of his death, but the employee has not been arrested or charged.
