"Liam had an energy for life and a passion for work that was infectious. He was the brightest in every room and always made everyone feel happy and secure."
"All the laughs we had over the years, sometimes about the simplest of things, keep coming to mind through the sadness. We got to live out our wildest dreams together and I will cherish every moment we had forever. The bond and friendship we had doesn't happen often in a lifetime."
Horan likewise recounted his recent meeting with his late bandmate and friend.
"I feel so fortunate that I got to see him recently. I sadly didn't know that after saying goodbye and hugging him that evening, I would be saying goodbye forever. It's heartbreaking."
It is worth noting that Payne attended Horan's concert on October 2 in Buenos Aires, the same city where the 31-year-old singer died.
Furthermore, Horan expressed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
"My love and condolences go out to Geoff, Karen, Ruth, Nicola and of course his son Bear."
He also affectionately told Payne, "Thank you for everything, Payno. Love you brother."
Liam Payne, born in 1993, gained fame as part of the boy band One Direction. He first auditioned for The X Factor in 2008 and rejoined in 2010, forming the successful group. After the band went on hiatus in 2015, Payne started a solo career, releasing hit singles like "Strip That Down." His solo album LP1 came out in 2019, and he saw major success as a solo artist. Payne passed away in 2024 after a fall from a hotel in Buenos Aires.
More information about Liam Payne's tragic death have been confirmed in an autopsy report released by Argentine authorities. 24 Oras' "Chika Minute" reported details about the autopsy result.
Before the singer died, a hotel employee called 911, asking for help with a guest who he said was trashing his room. Reuters then publicized the full transcript of the call related to the 31-year-old pop star's death.
