Gerald Santos has finally revealed the name of the musical director who allegedly abused him when he was just 15.

During the hearing of the Senate committee on public information and mass media on Tuesday, August 27, the former Kapuso singer claimed he was raped by Danny Tan.

“Ngayon po ay handa ko nang harapin ang tunay kong kalaban—ang nanghalay at umabuso sa akin noong ako ay 15 years old pa lamang. Si Mr. Danny Tan. Maraming-maraming salamat po,” he stated.

Gerald said he is planning to file a case against the said musical director, but they are still analyzing whether the complaint to be filed is rape or child abuse.

“Isa pong kaluwagan sa akin ngayon na malaman officially na mayroong ginawa ang GMA laban sa taong aking inakusahan 19 years ago.”

He went on to air, “Kung sana lamang po ay napagbigyan ng aming formal na kahilingan noong February 28, 2011 na kami ay maabisuhan man lamang po sa naging resulta ng imbestigasyon ng GMA ay maaring noon pa po ay nagkalakas sa loob na kami at nakapag-file ng kaso sa tamang umpuman.”

“Ganun pa man ay maraming salamat po sa GMA sa action po na kanilang ginawa sa complaint na idinulog ko, ang tanggalin sa network ng taong aking inakusahan,” he added.

Despite the tragic incident, Gerald still recognized GMA as his home when he was just starting in the industry.

“Uulitin ko po na hindi po ako makikilala at magkakapangalan po sa industriya kung wala po ang GMA. Up until now, proud po ako na ako po ay minsang naging Kapuso.”

Gerald Santos is a well-known singer, actor, and performer in the Philippines. His popularity began when he won the second season of the reality talent show "Pinoy Pop Superstar" in 2006.

Earlier, Geral expressed support for Sandro Muhlach. The singer also revealed that he once experienced a similar situation. Gerald hopes that Sandro will get the justice he never attained before.

Gerald emotionally spoke during the previous senate hearing investigating the cases of sexual abuse in the entertainment industry. Santos claimed that he was raped by a former musical director of a television network. He said he opted to keep mum about it for 19 years because of fear.
