Senate President Chiz Escudero and Heart Evangelista made headlines after they welcomed Filipino athletes who recently competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Among the athletes was double gold medalist Carlos Yulo, who was joined by his girlfriend, Chloe San Jose.

Chiz shared photos of the memorable encounter on his Facebook page, where he praised the athletes for their outstanding achievements.

"Dumalo sina Senate President Francis 'Chiz' G. Escudero at Heart Evangelista sa gabi ng parangal at pagkilala sa mga atletang lumaban sa ginanap na Paris Olympics. Sa pangunguna nina double gold medalist Carlo Yulo at bronze medalists Nesthy Petecio at Aira Villegas, naitala ng Pilipinas ang pinakamatagumpay na paglahok nito sa Palarong Olimpiko sa loob ng isang siglo," he wrote.

"Inanunsyo rin ng Pangulo sa pagtitipon ang cash incentives na matatanggap ng lahat ng atleta at kani-kanilang coaching staff," he added.

Heart Evangelista is a Filipina actress, singer, TV host, endorser, visual media artist, philanthropist, socialite, and the former first lady of Sorsogon province. She was born on February 14, 1985, to a Chinese-Filipino father, restaurant mogul Reynaldo Evangelista Ongpauco, and Bicolana Maria Cecilia del Gallego Payawal.
