Inka Magnaye, a famous Pinay voice over artist, gave her take on what is happening between the couple Carlos and Chloe, and the athlete’s mom, Angelica Yulo.

It can be recalled that the drama between the couple and the Pinoy Olympic sensation’s mom erupted after Mrs. Yulo made a post seemingly rooting for Japanese athletes who are competing against her son.

She also granted an interview to members of the press and aired out their family drama, something that prompted Carlos to respond to with a video post where he clarified everything.

Mrs. Yulo followed it all up with a press conference where she appeared emotional over the hullaballoo.

Many netizens then started blaming Carlos and his GF and sympathized with his mom, who, as Inka said, “eclipsed” his historic Olympic winnings by granting an interview on the same day the Pinoy athlete won his second gold medal.

“Imagine winning a gold medal for you and your country, and your mom eclipses all of that by doing interviews to air out family drama and sh1t on your girlfriend,” Inca said in her post on Threads.

The popular voice over artist also lamented over the fact that some netizens in the comments section are telling Carlos to just deal with it without complaining.

“And people in the comments have the unmitigated gall to tell you to sück it up and respect your mother because she’s still your mother?” the popular voice over artist wrote.

She then asked a couple of questions why netizens call out Caloy’s mother instead as she was the first to make the noise, to which Carlos only responded with a single video post.

“Why does no one tell the mother to shut up and celebrate her son because he’s still her son? Why does respect always have to be a one way street when abuse is involved? Why the lack of understanding?” Inka asked.

Followers on her thread appeared to agree with her opinion, with some calling out Caloy’s mom, and others referring to the some netizens negative comments about Carlos as a “toxic mindset.”

“Nakakalungkot. It’s so toxic. The whole “utang na loob” mindset can be so malicious and it’s sad that it’s always weaponized against children who dare to go against their parents’ BS. That mother did not want this whole issue to be private at all. She’s stealing her son’s well-deserved limelight. To gain sympathy? For what, exactly? Money that she did not work hard for. That’s all it boils down to. The entitlement is so disgusting,” a netizen wrote in the comments section.

“Toxic Filipino culture. Always sück it up for "respect". Even if your elders are wrong, bawal ka sumagot kasi kapag nag reason out ka, bastos ka, unrespectful, ungrateful,” another netizen said.

Inka Magnaye became well-known after her video that revealed she was the iconic voice behind the in-flight instructional safety announcement of Philippine Airlines just before every PAL plane takes off went viral. She is also shared other voice-overs she did for other companies and outfits. The voice-artist also revealed several voice-overs that some of her family members did.

In a video that Carlos posted after the initial interview of his mom, the Pinoy golden boy of the 2024 Paris Olympics asked for healing between him and his mom. This was part of his message for his mom in his most recent video posted online. In his message, he also asked his mom to move on, saying that he has forgiven her a long time ago. He also revealed the things he always prays about when it comes to his mom and his family back home.

In an interview following his second gold medal win, Caloy acknowledged Cynthia Carrion as someone who acts in a parental role for him. Cynthia Carrion is the president of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines and has been helping Carlos with his needs during his training and actual competition. According to the golden boy, Cynthia would go at lengths, even to the point of picking up a fight with anyone, just so Caloy would get the support that he needs. Caloy also said that “Ma’am Cynthia” took on the role as a parent for him and truly believed in what he can do as an athlete.
