Hidilyn Diaz, may makahulugang mensahe pagkatapos manalo ni Carlos Yulo ng 2nd Olympic Gold

- She also saluted Caloy for doing everything he can to bring home two Olympic gold medals for the country

Hidilyn Diaz, the Pinoy weightlifting Olympic Gold medalist expressed her heartfelt congratulations to Carlos Yulo for winning two Olympic gold medals.

It can be recalled that Caloy won his first Olympic gold medal in a gymnastics event, specifically the Men’s Floor Exercise, last Saturday, August 3, at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He won his second Olympic gold the following day, still in a gymnastics event, which is the Men’s Vault, where he finished with an average score of 15.116.

In her congratulatory message that she posted on Instagram, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist expressed her pride in Caloy, not because he won two medals but because of his resilience to the difficulties he went through to reach his Olympic goal.

She also said she’s proud of Caloy for doing everything for himself and most of all, for the country.

“Congratulations ulit Caloy! Ang galing!” Hidilyn wrote in the beginning of her post.

“Ipinagmamalaki kita hindi lang sa mga medalya mo kundi dahil sa hirap na pinagdaanan mo para makamit ang tagumpay , para sa sarili at higit pang lalo , para sa bayan,” the Olympian said.

She then promised to see Caloy soon and then sent her hugs to him.

“Magkikita tayo dyan Caloy at mahigpit na yakap mula sa Ate Haidie mo! God bless you!” Hidilyn said.

In another interview, this time with ABS-CBN, Caloy shared the difficult journey he had until he reached the Olympics. He said that how he was able to achieve the gold was not easy. There were so many obstacles that he faced, and he poured sweat and blood to the game. Caloy said that he never gave up and that was one of the blessings that God gave him, underscoring the value of being thankful.
