President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. recently took to Facebook to congratulate Pinoy Olympian, Carlos Yulo, for bagging the gold in the men’s floor exercise in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In his post, the president, who referred to Yulo by his nickname, congratulated him and told him that the entire country is proud of his achievement.

"We’ve witnessed history as Carlos Yulo clinched the Philippines’ first 𝗚𝗢𝗟𝗗 medal in artistic gymnastics at the 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝙊𝙡𝙮𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙨," the president said.

"I am confident that it will not be the last," he added.

"Congratulations, Caloy! The entire country stands proud with you!” the post on PBBM’s official Facebook page read.

It can be recalled that Yulo won the gold after besting other participants in the men’s floor exercise, a gymnastics segment of the Olympics, earning him a score of 15.

In a nutshell, Olympics pundits say a score of 13 in gymnastics is already solid and anything within the 14 range is excellent and puts a participant in medal contention, though 15 or better is oftentimes assured of a gold medal.

Carlos Yulo is a Filipino artistic gymnast known for his exceptional skills and achievements in gymnastics. He gained international recognition for his performances in various competitions, particularly in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He has now brought home the first gold medal in gymnastics of the Philippines in the Olympics.

Carlos Yulo just bagged a gold for the Philippines at the Paris Olympics 2024. The Olympian ruled the men's floor exercises of the artistic gymnastics competition. Because of this, he is set to receive lavish rewards both in monetary and real estate form. He will receive a cash prize of P10,000,000 from the government, a house and lot, and a condominium unit as pledged by a property developer.

This is the first gold medal won by team Philippines at the Paris 2024 Olympics and also the first in artistic gymnastics.
