Chino succumbed to a heart attack on Saturday night, his daughter Floresse confirmed to GMA News Online. He was 56.

Following the heartbreaking news, Connie Sison took to social media to post a tribute dedicated to her fellow journalist.

She shared a lovely photo of herself with Chino and penned a heartfelt caption where she expressed her earnest farewell message to the late reporter.

“You will be sorely missed, my friend,” Connie wrote.

The Filipina broadcaster continued, “I will always treasure our Pacquiao coverages abroad.”

“Rest now in our heavenly Father’s arms, Chino,” she added.

Manolo "Chino" Trinidad was a Filipino sports journalist and commentator. He started his journalism career with DZRH in 1991. Chino later served as commissioner of the defunct Philippine Basketball League from 2000 to 2010. He also previously worked with GMA Sports as a commentator and sports analyst.

Aside from Chino, there were other prominent personalities who died recently.

Rosalio "Yoyong" Martires, a PBA legend and Olympian, has passed away. He peacefully died at the age of 77 on June 18, his family announced. According to his daughter Moby Leah Martires' Facebook post, Yoyong was "surrounded by his family and loved ones during this difficult time." Aside from being an athlete, Yoyong also joined showbiz as a comedian and became involved in politics in Pasig City.
