- As per Dennis, 1997 was a joyful year because one of his daughters, Julia Barreto, was born

- However, his father, Dencio Padilla, passed away months later, making 1997 a sorrowful year for him as well

Dennis Padilla took a trip down memory lane and recalled some unforgettable events in his life that happened in 1997.

On his Instagram page, the veteran actor shared an art card with a tearjerker quote about the death of one’s father.

“THE DAY YOU BURY YOUR FATHER is the day you realize you have lost the only man who truly wanted to see you become better than him,” the quote reads.

In the caption, Dennis emotionally remembered Julia Barreto’s birth on March 10, 1997 and his father Dencio Padilla’s passing on October 10, 1997.

As per Dennis, the said year became both joyful and sorrowful for him because of the two occurrences.

“1997... Ang taon na masaya sapagkat dumating si Julia... Malungkot din dahil yumao si Tatay,” he wrote.

Dennis Esteban Dominguez Baldivia, better known by his screen name Dennis Padilla, is a Filipino comedian, TV host, radio broadcaster and actor. He was born on February 9, 1962 to the late actor-comedian Prudencio Baldivia and Catalina Baldivia. He is the father of Julia Barretto, a well-known actress, endorser, and vlogger in the Philippines. Dennis already has a different family.

Dennis Padilla, in a previous social media post, expressed his happiness in seeing actor Kier Legaspi “after so many years.” In his post, Dennis shared a photo of him and Kier wearing the broadest of smiles. The actor-comedian, however, did not specify as to how long ago since he last saw Kier. It can be recalled that Kier is the father of Dani Barretto, the firstborn of Marjorie Barretto, Dennis’ former wife.

Along with the lovely pic, the celebrity dad said he hopes to see the two soon. The actor likewise wished Claudia and Leon many more blessings.
