Gigi De Lana, a famous singer and actress in the Philippines, is currently mourning the death of her beloved mother.

She revealed the heartbreaking news about her mom’s passing in a social media post published on Tuesday, May 14.

On her Instagram page, Gigi shared a carousel of photos featuring her mom. In the caption, Gigi wrote a short yet touching farewell message for her mother.

“Mahal na mahal kita. Pahinga ka na mama ko.”

It is worth noting that in her previous interviews, Gigi disclosed that her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 brèast cancer.

Gigi De Lana, who was first introduced in showbiz circles as Gedget Dela Llana, is a singer, commercial model, and actress. She rose to fame when she joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan on “It’s Showtime.” She became a defending champion and eventually became a semi-finalist. She also made her debut on the silver screen with Four Sisters Before the Wedding. Gigi and her band, Gigi Vibes, can often be seen performing via live stream.

In a previous post, Gigi shared the events that transpired during her vehicular accident and why she decided to go ahead with the event despite her injuries. She said she was thinking about the people who went to the event just to see them, and so she and her band decided to go on with the show. It can be recalled that Gigi appeared to have fainted on stage, which might have been due to the injuries she sustained, in the middle of her performance. Despite this, Gigi opted not to go to the hospital because she was worried about the expenses.

Gigi, in a social media post, expressed her opinion on some netizens’ comments complaining about the dreary performance of some singers at events. The famous singer, however, did not say whether the alleged complaints were directed at her and the Gigi Vibes band or whether the criticism was directed at other singers.
