Actress Heart Evangelista and her husband, Senator Chiz Escudero, recently shared insights into their journey of overcoming marital struggles during an interview on GMA’s “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.”

Heart commended Chiz for his unwavering strength during their difficult times, acknowledging that his belief in her helped them persevere.

Heart said: “If one is going through a really tough time, the other one really has to be strong because I don’t think we would be sitting here today if he wasn’t strong. Like seriously he was like I’ve never met anyone, not even a friend, like everybody failed me during that time.

“But he believed in my heart and it’s because of his belief and like the Heart that he knows, he knew that I was going to come back. If he didn’t, it would have been down.”

Recalling the tumultuous period, Chiz credited his faith in God for providing him with the strength to endure. He emphasized the importance of surrendering to a higher power during times of turmoil.

“God made it easier for me, so lesson learned there is to be still and know there is a God. Be still until you surrender,” Chiz shared.

Heart candidly discussed the reasons behind their marital problems, citing confusion and negative influences as contributing factors. She expressed feeling lost and out of character, struggling with anger and a sense of being possessed during her darkest moments.

“I was very confused and it also didn’t help that I was with the wrong set of people, so I was basically out of character. You know I wasn’t a teenager for me to say, ‘Oh I was young I didn’t know what I was doing. I didn’t know what was wrong or right.
“It’s for me my darkest time because I knew what I was doing but I just don’t know why I’m here, like I feel like I was possessed and taken somewhere else and I was full of anger,” Heart explained.

Heart Evangelista is a Filipina actress, singer, TV host, endorser, visual media artist, philanthropist, socialite, and also a former first lady of Sorsogon province. She was born on February 14, 1985, to a Chinese-Filipino father, restaurant mogul Reynaldo Evangelista Ongpauco, and Bicolana Maria Cecilia del Gallego Payawal.
