Lolit Solis, kay Paolo Contis: "Iyon premium niya as a host parang naging sinlaki ng TVJ"

Lolit Solis has shared her thoughts on Paolo Contis, now that the court has ruled in favor of TVJ over the copyright case.

She said that Paolo seems pressured and also underscored what the noontime show did for him.

"Parang pressured siya sa nangyayari sa Eat Bulaga dahil nga sa titulo na parang pinag aagawan. Kahit ano pa ipalit na title hindi na mababago na natatak narin iyon Eat Bulaga sa dalawang programa. Pag itatanong mo ano pinanuod, ‘ang Eat Bulaga sa GMA o Eat Bulaga sa TV5’ iyon lang maririnig mo. Malaki ang nagawa ng noontime show kay Paolo Contis. Iyon premium niya as a host parang naging sinlaki ng TVJ. Naging malakas ang energy niya, nagkaruon ng disiplina na gumising ng maaga, at financially very stable siya dahil sa additional income niya."

Eat Bulaga is a popular noontime show in the Phlippines. At present, the name is the subject of a controversy with two parties, namely, TAPE Inc. and TVJ, claiming ownership of the name. Recently, the Intellectual Property Office rejected the application of TAPE Inc for trademark rights to the name, while the application of Joey De Leon of TVJ for the same purpose was approved.

Recently, former Senator Tito Sotto shared online that TAPE Inc.’s appeal regarding the Eat Bulaga trademark case has been dismissed. Earlier, TAPE Inc. made the appeal after the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) canceled TAPE Inc.’s Eat Bulaga trademark. The IPO stated that it is TVJ (Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon) who have the right to trademark Eat Bulaga. TVJ’s show on TV5, will soon be using the title “Eat Bulaga” after months of using “E.A.T.” since separating from TAPE Inc.

In the meantime, Joey of TVJ stirred buzz on social media after the trio held an official presscon after their trademark case win. During the presscon, TVJ was asked about the possibility of two 'Eat Bulagas' airing. This prompted Joey to say, "Mga tao na hahatol niyan" during the press conference.
