Kokoi used to be a member of Team Sarah during The Voice Philippines’ Season 2.

In her IG post, the Pop Princess thanked Kokoi for sharing his talent, and at the same time revealed she learned many things from the popular reggae artist.

“Maraming salamat at ibinahigi mo sa amin ang talento mo sa musika.. Marami po akong natutunan sa inyo lalo na ang prinsipyo nyo sa buhay,” Sarah wrote in her Instagram post.

It can be recalled that the reggae artist rose to fame after securing a place in The Voice Philippines as one of the finalists of the reality contest.

He met an untimely death early morning today, December 8, after losing control of his motorcycle along the stretch of the Circumferential road in Bacolod City, throwing him under a passing loaded truck, which then ran over him, causing instantaneous death.

News of his untimely demise spread like wildfire online and messages of sympathies poured from netizens.

Juan Manuel Baldo, more popularly known as Kokoi Baldo, is a reggae artist from Bacolod City. He gained celebrity status after gaining the approval of The Voice of the Philippines' coaches Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Mañalac, and Apl.de.Ap, later allowing him to be one of the finalists of the popular singing competition.

Earlier today, December 8, Kokoi, a Season 2 finalist of The Voice Philippines and referred to by the media as Bob Marley of the Philippines, died in a freak vehicular accident. In a video live report by K5 News FM Bacolod 103.9, the famous reggae artist was riding his motorcycle when the accident happened. According to the report as narrated by witnesses, around 1 a.m. today, Kokoi was allegedly trying to pass by a truck carrying sugarcane when his motorcycle crashed. As per report, the famous reggae singer allegedly was then thrown off his motorcycle and ran over by the said loaded truck.

In a previous report by KAMI News, a video footage of the famous reggae artist singing his version of the hit song, “Rude,” went viral. The video got thousands of reactions from fans who were surprised with his performance. That particular report described him as a former finalist of The Voice Philippines where he is known for his epic performances.
