Veteran actor Kier Legaspi gave an insightful interview on the Spotify podcast “Updated with Nelson Canlas.”

During the interview, Kier expressed his appreciation for comedian Dennis Padilla for being a good stepfather before to Dani Barretto — Kier’s daughter with Marjorie Barretto. Dennis used to be in a relationship with Marjorie and they have three children — Julia, Leon, and Claudia Barretto.

“Nabanggit ko na rin sa iba kong mga interview na si Dennis (Padilla), gusto kong pasalamatan 'yan dahil inalagaan niya at minahal niya si Iren (Dani Barretto), parang sarili niyang anak and I appreciate that,” Kier said.

Kier also advised Dennis to not listen to what others are saying and to do what he believes is right to gain inner peace.

“'Wag kang makikinig sa sinasabi ng ibang tao. Pag alam mong tama, pare, bro, gawin mo 'yan makakabuti sa'yo 'yan. It will give you peace in your mind, in your soul,” sabi niya.

Finally, Kier shared that he can relate to Dennis’s struggles as a father to Marjorie’s kids due to the similarities in their situations. Both Kier and Dennis have been estranged from their children with Marjorie.

“I think isa ako sa mga taong talagang makaka-relate sa pinagdadaanan niya. May hawig e, so ako, naiintindihan ko si Dennis,” he stated.
