Veteran actor Kier Legaspi has opened up about the status of his relationship with Dani Barretto, his daughter with his former partner Marjorie Barretto.

During his interview on the “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast, Kier revealed that he currently has no communication with Dani. The last time they talked was when Dani called him to invite him to a gathering so that he could meet his grandchild. Unfortunately, the reunion did not push through for some reason.

“Matagal na kaming hindi nakakapag-usap.

“But in fairness to her, once tumawag siya, nangumusta. Ang sabi niya nga sa akin noon parang gusto niyang makilala, kumbaga [makilala ko] ‘yung anak niya, magkita lahat, maayos lahat,” Kier said.

Furthermore, Kier claimed that he has always tried to reach out to Dani and establish a relationship with her ever since she was young.

“Naghabol ako. Simula noong bata ‘yan, hanggang tumanda ‘yan, nagkaroon na ng anak, ako naghabol.

“Paano kayo magkikita kung ‘yung hinahabol mo, tumatakbo naman ng papalayo?” Yung hinahanap mo, tago naman nang tago. Diba?” the actor claimed.

Despite the years of estrangement, Kier said that he is always open and ready to reunite with his daughter.

“Bukas ‘yung linya ko, I'm just here, lalo na nga ‘yung may social media, ‘di ba? So, madali na makipag-communicate, to reach out.
