Michelle Marquez Dee transformed into “Captain MMD” during the national costume show of the 72nd Miss Universe in El Salvador.

The Philippine representative graced the stage with an airplane couture crafted by Michael Barassi.

The stunning winged costume is inspired by Michelle’s role as a military reservist in the Philippine Air Force. It has rattan-woven patterns known as “solihiya,” an iconic design used in the tropics of the Philippines.

Its wings also bear the colors of the flag, and a mural featuring the breathtaking sights in the Philippines and the country’s tourism slogan, “Love the Philippines.”

On her Instagram page, the Pinay beauty queen also shared a video of her flexing the costume and its fine details.

“In the grand tapestry of the Philippines comes a National costume as stunning as its archipelago. Behold, Sergeant Michelle Marquez Dee, Miss Universe Philippines, adorned in the nation’s pride and heritage,” the caption reads.

Michelle Marquez Dee is a beauty queen who rose to fame after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. She represents the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador. Michelle’s mother is actress and former beauty queen Melanie Marquez.
