Nepal’s bet to the 72nd Miss Universe, Jane Dipika Garrett, earned loud cheers and applause from the crowd during the pageant’s preliminary competition happened earlier today in El Salvador.

The inspiring beauty queen made history as the first plus-size candidate to join the prestigious beauty pageant.

“This persevering 23-year-old overcame a series of mental and hormonal changes to boost her confidence and become the woman you see on stage tonight,” the host described Jane in the swimsuit portion.
