Iza Calzado, emosyonal nang maalala ang namayapang ama sa muling pagtapak sa GMA Network compound

Iza Calzado, in an interview conducted by Tito Boy Abunda over “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” admitted getting very emotional when she remembered her late father as she set foot once again at the GMA Network compound.

Early in the interview, Tito Boy asked what she felt after stepping inside the GMA Network compound again after 12 years.

“Actually, Tito Boy, pagpasok ko akala ko I will be sentimental kasi, of course, pagbabalik ko,” Iza said.

She then said that she immediately recalled her late father, former actor and director Lito Calzado, when she once again set foot inside the compound.

“Pero ang unang-unang naisip ko nu’ng… Kasi nagpa-picture ako doon sa may statue. Tumingin ako sa gazebo. Na-miss ko ’yong tatay ko,” Iza said amid tears.

“Kasi laman s’ya noon, e. Kung nakatrabaho n’yo ang tatay ko dito, nagsisigarilyo ’yon, nakatambay,” she added.

The actress then said that somehow she visualized her late father greeting her.

“And somehow, I guess, I visualized him greeting me with a warmest smile,” the actress said.

Nevertheless, she expressed happiness at being able to set foot once again in the TV station where she started her career.

Iza Calzado is a Filipino actress, producer, model, and television host. She is popularly known for films such as "The Echo" (2008), "Ang Panday 2" (2011), and "Bliss" (2017), among many others. Over the years, she has proven to be a dominant force in the entertainment scene. She started her career in GMA-7 but signed a contract with ABS-CBN in 2012. She is married to Ben Wintle and they have a daughter Deia Amihan.

Early this month, Iza posted about her daughter Deia Amihan’s first Halloween. The actress shared adorable photos and clips of Baby Deia in her cute Darna costume. As seen in the snaps and video, the baby girl was all smiles while dressed as the Pinoy superheroine. In the caption, Iza thanked everyone who made her child’s first Halloween remarkable.

In another previous socmed post, she shared a heartwarming message for her daughter, Deia Amihan. At the beginning of the message, Iza said that she wasn’t sure what costume Deia would wear on her first Halloween, adding that it should be memorable for her. The actress then recalled that when she did her photoshoot for the TV series Darna last year, it was also the first day that she got to hear Deia’s heartbeat, adding that she cried upon hearing it. She then said that looking at Deia now, they can see her strength and her undeniable light, saying that she hopes that wherever life takes Deia, she will always find the inner superhero in her.
